      <image:title>About Us - Vision</image:title>
<image:caption>Transform inspires artists to establish a legitimate presence in creative industries to authentically represent Christ in the worlds of art, media, and entertainment. Mission Transform seeks to encourage generations of artists who don’t merely maintain their faith, but also flourish and impact culture. We do this by providing space and time for artists to develop in four areas of life: artistic, spiritual, civic compassion, and leadership. What We Do Society is not structured to encourage the success of artists. The artist is often devoid of two resources - time and space. The arts are commonly under-valued and are therefore under-paid leaving the artist with little time outside of a day-job to pursue their craft. The residency program provides artists with time via fund development training based on Cru’s Ministry Partner Development program. With this, the resident can dedicate time normally spent at work towards pursuing their craft, the integration of their art and faith, along with relationships with other artists in creative communities. The second resource is space. Physical space is a rare commodity in a financial sense, but the more important space for artists is a communal space. The journey of the artist is lonely. Moreso for the Christian who feels disconnected from a church that has historically discouraged engagement with the arts. The residency provides creative space and communal space with a built-in community of creative believers journeying with them as they pursue their legitimate presence in the art world as a follower of Christ. History Transform began on NYU’s campus in 2001 as a response to the need for a thoughtful Christian presence in the arts. The ministry quickly expanded to include other art schools in New York City.In 2005 Transform began a summer program in NYC. This program brought college art students into the city from around the country to grow in the four areas of art, spiritual, civic compassion and leadership, with a desire to catapult these young emerging artists to pursue their faith and art with excellence. In 2011 Transform began a year-long artist-in-residence program in NYC and expanded to Kansas City in 2013. Presently, Transform has a network of professional artists in 10 cities spanning from NYC to California, as well as Mexico City and Paris. In 2019 we began a new 4-month residency for local artists in NYC. We hope to see Transform’s network continue to grow with artists both inside and outside of the church.</image:caption>

      <image:title>New York - Sasha Hallock</image:title>
<image:caption>Sasha Hallock is a contemporary abstract painter who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. With an Iranian father and American mother, Hallock’s paintings speak to this “bringing together,” of disparate pieces to create an object of beauty. Geometric forms, vibrant colors, odd textures and sculptural landscapes populate Hallock’s paintings. Fueled by the joy of seeing two objects connect, each painting is the result of meticulous building, one line, shape, and color in relationship with the next. Hallock uses a unique abstract language to tap into themes of play, joy and faith. A graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a concentration in painting and drawing, Hallock has participated in group shows in New York City, Kansas City, and Fort Collins, Colorado. He is on the artistic development team for Transform.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Arizona - Elaine Greenwood</image:title>
<image:caption>‘I’m often frustrated by the blurriness of my existence, the tangle of my changing perceptions as I carry on hoping and despairing. I create out of a longing for clarity and purity, a new heavens and new earth, our humanness restored. I am inspired by glimpses of reclamation: light in all of its forms, soaring stained glass windows, winter rivers, lapis lazuli, choirs, and Mary’s head bowed over her divine infant.’ Elaine Greenwood was born and raised in Bozeman, MT. Her love for art making is shared by a love of music. When she isn’t at the pottery wheel, she can be found teaching violin lessons, composing folky songs, and playing with the local orchestra. Elaine is refreshed by running in the hills, swimming with her mother, eating her husband’s amazing meals and going to church. Elaine is a part of Transform’s spiritual development team, and is the Southwest Liaison.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Arizona - Jesse Greenwood</image:title>
<image:caption>Jesse Greenwood was born and raised in Northern California, and graduated with a B.F.A.. from Los Angeles’ Biola University in 2012, having concentrated in painting and illustration and studied art history both locally in California and abroad in London. As he has refined his painting interest in more recent years, Greenwood has found himself particularly interested in representing wide open landscapes, traveling extensively to create plein air studies on location, from the arid heat of the Mojave to the rugged alpine of Montana. He maintains his studio practice of both developing studies into finished works and illustrating for editorial purposes in his home studio. Jesse finds himself increasingly drawn to portraying the “feeling”, or sense of place, of specific locations through accurate yet intuitive use of color. He firmly believes that capturing the authenticity of such a sense of place in paint is accomplished through putting his thoughts down on canvas through the language of color relationship, and that this essential truth is what gives him his voice as an artist in these modern times. Jesse is a part of the artistic development pillar.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Missouri - Kelli Pratte</image:title>
<image:caption>Kelli is an artist who hails from the Midwest, currently living in Saint Joseph, Missouri. After serving in ministry contexts for over 30 years both locally and internationally, she came to the art world later in life. Kelli found that being a beginner again was both humbling and thrilling. After a few significant losses in life she began studying art as a next step. She found this not only connected her to a vibrant community of honest strugglers, but also helped her connect with God more deeply as she engaged her own story. In the “making” she sensed a connection with the Creator. As a result, Kelli loves helping others connect to their stories through the creative process. Although painting is her first love, Kelli found a niche in the ceramics world -as it allowed her to merge many of her interests. She currently works from her home studio and in her community. She also continues to connect with students, helping them to engage with the arts and connecting young artists to local galleries. Her hope is that others will feel more fully alive by engaging with the arts. Kelli is a part of the artistic development team, and is also Transform’s Midwest liaison.</image:caption>

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and much of my work in photography centers around challenging issues we face in the world (human trafficking, clean water, education). No matter what project I am working on, I believe that beauty matters and I seek to be a voice of hope in the world. Whimsy and play are central to all that that I do. Even in the hardest situations, play can bring rest and healing. I want to help make the world a more playful place by bringing beauty and joy to our ordinary lives. I do this through creating meaningful experiences for people through visual art, storytelling and creative projects. We are all on a journey through life. Together, we can inspire each other to create a little magic along the way.” Bonnie is Transform’s liaison to Cru Arts and Culture.</image:caption>

Born to a painter and scientific engineer Donna blended science and art in her undergraduate studies at UCBerkley, ultimately obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Biology. She obtained a master's degree in Intercultural Studies and has lived and worked in a variety of international cultures (including Africa, Asia, Eastern and Western Europe). Her passion is to help people of any culture grow deeper in their relationships and flourish in their faith. She spent 13 years living in France and the last 7 of those and working in Paris- co creating spaces and exhibits at the intersection of art and faith. When she first encountered the Author of Life in college, she began to see the world in a kaleidoscope of color she had not known before. Lisa’s story took an abrupt turn and a passion for journeying with people into their stories was birthed. As each person’s story gives snapshots of a larger story, she finds that her favorite pieces of art are the people she encounters every day. To know and be known, to journey with another, to put words to the canvas of another’s life when they could not find them—these are treasured gifts. Out of Zion: Meeting Jesus in the Shadow of the Mormon Temple, her premier book, published in October 2019.
